Outlook

The Nationals' three-game homestand begins with a matchup of left-handers, and that might not be good for Washington. Through play Wednesday, the Mets had the best average (.352) and second-best slugging percentage (.522) in the NL against lefties. The Nationals? Not so much. Their numbers against lefties (.227 average, .352 slugging percentage) are among the worst in the NL, and they get southpaw Tom Glavine tomorrow . Since 2005, Glavine has a 2.61 ERA in eight starts against Washington, and he has never been charged with more than three earned runs.
