To the rest of the country, Washington is a city of people who like running for office. But Washingtonians know it's also a city of people who like running for fitness -- along with biking, weight lifting, playing soccer, salsa dancing and just about any other activity you can imagine. There are new health clubs by the score and miles of trails to hike.
Now there are also two guides to help you figure it all out: the MisFits. Vicky Hallett and Howard Schneider will switch off in the Health section each week: Howard will use his middle-aged bod to fiddle with new gadgets and test the latest theories in exercise science; Vicky will find smart answers to the questions readers send her way. (Put her to the test by e-mailing fitness@washpost.com.) And online every Tuesday at 11 a.m. on http:/
But who are the MisFits? We'll let them handle each other's introductions.
