As KidsPost readers know, Washington is celebrating William Shakespeare's life and works this year with a citywide festival.

Maybe you think that Shakespeare's writings -- with all those "thees" and "thous" -- isn't kid-friendly. Think again.

On Saturday the National Building Museum will host an afternoon of Shakespeare performances by and for kids. Students from the Folger Library will perform scenes from his play "Twelfth Night" on sets created by students. Expect the unexpected during this event: You could find yourself onstage, engaging in swordplay or being mesmerized by jugglers and other entertainers. You also can make a shoebox-size Shakespearean set to take home.

The program is from 1 p.m. to 4 p.m. The museum's address is 401 F St. in Northwest Washington. Admission is free, but a donation of $5 is suggested. For more information, visit http://www.nbm.org or call 202-272-2448.
