Stage and screen legend Theodore Bikel stars as the title character in "Shylock," Arnold Wesker's reimagining of the three stories that inspired Shakespeare's "The Merchant of Venice," in concert readings by Theater J, Sunday through Tuesday at the D.C. Jewish Community Center, 1529 16th St. NW.
Among his other roles, Bikel has played Tevye in more than 2,000 performances of "Fiddler on the Roof." He also has recorded more than 20 albums of folk music.
Nick Olcott directs "Shylock," Edward Gero is the merchant Antonio, and Catherine Flye and other area stage veterans co-star.
