When: 7:30 tonight.

Where: Lane Stadium, Blacksburg.

Graduates: 3,585 bachelor's degrees, 1,179 graduate degrees. (A separate ceremony for graduate students will be held at 3 p.m. at Cassell Coliseum.)

Speaker: Retired Army Gen. John P. Abizaid, former commander of the U.S. Central Command.

Logistics: University officials are expecting as many as 30,000 students and guests. Security will be tight, with searches of people and bags.

The campus will be closed Monday to recognize the contributions of the university community in response to the April 16 massacre.
