Player of the Year

D Liz Downs, St. Stephen's/St. Agnes, Sr.

Considered one of the best defenders in the area, Downs used her strength, speed and smarts to shut down opposing attackers. She also had 31 goals, 15 assists and a team-high 55 groundballs for the No. 2 Saints. Will play at Virginia.

Coach of the Year

Alison Cobb, Robinson

Took a Rams team that many expected to be a bit down and led it back to the state tournament. In her fourth year, Cobb did her best coaching after the Rams suffered some close losses.

First Team

G Lauren Thomas, St. Stephen's/St. Agnes, Sr.

Held opponents to single-digit goal totals in 24 of 25 games and shut down Baltimore area power McDonogh in a 4-2 win. Will play at Georgetown.

MF Alex Breiner, O'Connell, Sr.

A hard worker and strong leader, Breiner finished the season with 64 goals, 14 assists and 17 caused turnovers for the Knights. Will play at Oregon.

MF Reid Cifrino, Yorktown, Sr.

Cifrino tallied 53 goals and 15 assists on offense and grabbed 59 groundballs as the coaches named her National District player of the year for the second straight season.

MF Mia Hurrin, St. Stephen's/St. Agnes, Sr.

Provided the Saints with critical contributions on offense (46 goals), defense (34 caused turnovers) and everywhere in between (54 groundballs). Will play at North Carolina.
