Player of the Year

P Kelley Engman, O'Connell, Sr.

Engman finished her career by going 21-2 with a 0.66 ERA over 149 innings. She struck out 233 batters and walked nine. At the plate, she batted .526 with a .684 on-base percentage, smacking three home runs with a .718 slugging percentage and 35 RBI.

Coach of the Year

Al Thompson, South County

In his second season, Thompson helped South County improve from seventh place to first in the Patriot District as the Stallions ended the regular season on a 14-game winning streak to finish 17-3 overall (12-2 in the district), then won the school's first Patriot tournament title.

First Team

P Linda Pirro, Westfield, Sr.

Pirro was one of the most dominant pitchers in the Northern Region's most competitive district. She posted an 18-5 record with a 1.20 ERA, 8 shutouts, 129 strikeouts and 22 walks. She batted .348 with 14 RBI.

1B Dorian Shaw, Robinson, Sr.

The repeat All-Met batted .558 with 9 home runs, 33 RBI and 14 intentional walks. She set a state record with three home runs in one game. Will play for Michigan.

2B Allie Heon, Westfield, Sr.

The repeat All-Met batted .484, including .773 with runners in scoring position. She had 12 doubles and 3 home runs and slugged .813 with 16 RBI. She did not commit a fielding error.
