D.C. Mayor Adrian M. Fenty grew up in Mount Pleasant, so it's not surprising that he has fond memories of an annual street festival nearby.
"I remember looking forward to Adams Morgan Day every summer," says Washington's youngest mayor at 36. "One year Steel Pulse was performing, and I was a huge fan. It was a bit of a double-edged sword though: It also signified the end of summer and return to school."
