Want to celebrate the 100th birthday of the banana split? On June 8-9, Wilmington, Ohio, is hosting its 13th annual Banana Split Festival. About 18,000 people are expected for the festival, which includes a banana split master competition and a make-your-own booth where revelers can go bananas! According to the town, Earnest Hazard created the yummy dessert in 1907 to attract customers to his Wilmington restaurant.
