The Washington Wizards will begin working out draft prospects on Thursday and Friday at Verizon Center. The Wizards, who hold the 16th and 47th selections in the June 28 draft, have scheduled visits on Thursday with point guard Taurean Green (Florida), point guard Jared Jordan (Marist), center Jason Smith (Colorado State) and center Larry Turner (Tennessee State).
On Friday, the team is scheduled to host point guard Javaris Crittenton (Georgia Tech), guard-forward Derrick Byars (Vanderbilt), guard Jamon Gordon (Virginia Tech), forward Josh McRoberts (Duke), forward-center Anthony Tolliver (Creighton), shooting guard Nick Young (USC) and guard Sun Yue (China).

Two of the most intriguing players are Smith, a 7-foot, 240-pounder, and Young, who averaged 17.5 points on 52.5 percent shooting for the Trojans as a junior last season. Neither Smith nor Young performed at last week's pre-draft camp in Orlando, so teams are especially eager to see how they look in private workouts.
Green, who helped the Gators win consecutive national championships, and Jordan, who became the first player since Avery Johnson to lead the nation in assists in consecutive seasons, raised their stock with solid performances in Orlando. Gordon is one of several area prospects who will work out for the Wizards. Workouts with other prospects will continue next week.
Summer in Vegas
This year's Wizards draft picks likely will join last year's first-round pick, forward Oleksiy Pecherov, in playing in the Las Vegas summer league, which runs from July 6 to 15.
