STAYING THERE: If you're not picky and plan to spend most of your time on the town, the Surfside Resort Hotel (18 S. Mount Vernon Ave., 609-347-7873), adjacent to Club Tru and Studio Six, ain't that bad. Rooms are $114 to $194. Also available are couples packages (starting at $299 for two nights and some perks, such as in-room whirlpool).
Otherwise, casino hotels can easily run into the hundreds on weekend nights. You can also stay at one of the chains leading into town. Check with the tourism authority (see below) for information.
EATING THERE: The place is crawling with options, but here are two favorites.
The scrumptious zucchini fries alone are worth the trip to the Continental (One Atlantic Ocean), a martini bar in the Pier Shops at Caesars. Drink-wise, having the $10 Buzz Aldrin martini (peach schnapps, peach vodka, a glass rimmed with Tang) might be the closest you'll ever get to a spacewalk. Dinner and drinks for two runs about $65.
For true grit, stumble away from the casino glitz to Tony's Baltimore Grill (2800 Atlantic Ave.). A roast beef sandwich with fries hit the spot at about 2:15 a.m., as does the atmosphere, which is no-nonsense.
NIGHTSPOTS: Here are the places we sampled.
