Crackdown's Arrest Tally

More than 3,000 D.C. officers worked a pair of 12-hour shifts last weekend to kick off Chief Cathy L. Lanier's summer crime-fighting plan. Between 6 a.m. Friday and 6 a.m. Sunday, they made about 650 arrests for various offenses -- double the usual number. Police provided this breakdown of some of the charges:

· Prostitution and related offenses: 153

· Serious traffic offenses: 118

· Drugs: 109

· Disorderly conduct: 89

· Unauthorized use of a vehicle: 14

· Aggravated Assault: 11

· Robbery: 9

· Weapons: 9

· Burglary: 3

· Homicide: 2
