Funniest Fed Update

Sunday, June 17, 2007

Nature, a notorious grump, cut the power Wednesday at the Arlington Cinema 'N' Drafthouse, postponing the sold-out semifinals of the Funniest Fed contest, whose participants graced our cover last Sunday.

U.S. Senate employee Scott Muschett was doing a Hulk Hogan impression when the place went dark. No one panicked. "They were cheering for the show to go on," contest producer Naomi Johnson says, "but nobody could see anything, so . . ."

The semifinals are now Thursday at 7:30 p.m., and the finals are set for Friday at 8 p.m. at the drafthouse (2903 Columbia Pike, Arlington, 703-486-2345).

As of press time, more than 1,800 people had voted in our Funniest Fed online poll. Census Bureau worker Shahryar Rizvi led with 24 percent. View the videos and vote for your favorite here.
