Webb said little about the incident in March.
"It was a matter under legal consideration, and I was precluded from saying anything," Webb told the Richmond newspaper. "And I hope you'll understand that in matters of self-defense up here, it doesn't do anybody's safety a lot of good by talking about this stuff. We're pretty vulnerable up here."

Va. Tech Student Cited in Crash
A Virginia Tech student was charged with drunken driving after swerving off the road and into a crowd, injuring eight people as bars were closing in Blacksburg, police said.
Mary Elizabeth Bowen, 20, of Winchester told police that she was sending a text message on her cellphone when she lost control of her sport-utility vehicle just after 2 a.m. Saturday. The SUV knocked down a small tree and broke a light pole before slamming to a halt against the corner of a restaurant.
Eight people were taken to hospitals, said Capt. Bruce Bradbery of the Blacksburg police. He said none appeared to have life-threatening injuries. Bowen was not injured.
