CANTON, Ohio, June 24 -- A former classmate of a man suspected of murdering a pregnant woman was arrested Sunday on a related obstruction of justice charge, the FBI said.
Myisha Ferrell was arrested hours after the body of Jessie Davis, 26, was found in Cuyahoga Valley National Park, still carrying her nearly full-term fetus. The Summit County medical examiner confirmed that the body was Davis's on Sunday.
Police had already arrested Bobby Cutts Jr., 30, a police officer who was Davis's boyfriend. He is scheduled to be arraigned Monday on two counts of murder.
Sheriff's deputies and FBI agents arrested Ferrell after breaking down the door of her apartment, agent Scott Wilson said.
Authorities served a search warrant for Ferrell's apartment Saturday night, after Cutts's arrest.
A neighbor, Justin Lindstrom, told the Akron Beacon Journal that deputies were looking for cleaning items and specifically asked about a bed comforter. They left with items in brown bags.
Davis, of Lake Township, near Canton, was reported missing after her mother found Davis's 2-year-old son, Blake, home alone, with bedroom furniture toppled and bleach spilled on the floor. Blake gave investigators their first clues, saying: "Mommy was crying. Mommy broke the table. Mommy's in rug."
The cause of Davis's death had not been determined, said Lisa Kohler, the Summit County medical examiner. Her office had said it might be difficult to determine the cause of death because of the body's advanced state of decomposition.
