Kevin Durant will go either first or second in the NBA draft, but he is already the first choice of EA Sports. The video game maker chose Durant, a native of Suitland and former standout at Montrose Christian School and the University of Texas, as the cover boy for NCAA March Madness 08.

Durant, 18, is the second-youngest athlete -- and the fourth teenager -- to be featured on an EA Sports game cover. MLS and former D.C. United star Freddy Adu graced the cover of FIFA Soccer 06 at age 16.

"There were other players we talked about, but what he did in college and what he has ahead of him, he was pretty clear-cut," Jordan Edelstein, marketing director for EA Sports, said of Durant.

Durant, the first college freshman to sweep all seven national college player of the year awards, went to Los Angeles recently to tape a series of commercials with Washington Wizards all-star guard Gilbert Arenas-- who is on the cover of NBA Live 08 -- that will begin airing this week, Edelstein said.
