The Washington Post Magazine received nearly 1,000 entries in its 2007 Fiction Contest. Entrants were asked to write an original short story inspired by the photograph above in 1,500 words or less. The winner will be published in the Valentine's issue on February 10, 2008, and the finalists will be published online.
