Round 1
Five players, including K.J. Choi and Stuart Appleby, opened with 66s under optimum conditions, but Tiger Woods and Phil Mickelson didn't take advantage, with a 73 and 74, respectively.
Round 2
While Choi and Appleby followed up their opening rounds with 3-under 67s, Woods played his way back into the tournament with a 4-under 66. Mickelson was not so fortunate, missing the cut.
Round 3
Appleby opened with a birdie on the first hole and shot his third straight round in the 60s to take a two-shot lead over Choi. Woods again struggled with his putter and could not gain any momentum.
Round 4
Appleby's lead was just a memory before he even made the turn. He made a double-bogey 5 on No. 2 and later four straight bogeys. Choi outdueled Steve Stricker for his second victory of the season.
