D.C. Man Struck, Killed in NE

A 46-year-old District man who jumped over a railing to cross North Capitol Street was struck by a truck and killed Sunday night, police said.

At about 8 p.m., Quincy Lewis Gatling, 46, was hit by a 2002 Dodge Ram that was traveling northbound in on North Capitol Street N.W. Gatling, of the first block of Todd Place NE, was taken to a local hospital and pronounced dead shortly after.

The driver of the Dodge Ram has not been charged with any crimes. The case is under investigation by the department's Major Crash Investigations Unit.
