DeShawn Stevenson signed a four-year, $15 million contract with the Washington Wizards yesterday. He will hold an option for the fourth year.

The Wizards have 10 players under contract for the upcoming season. The team is working on signing second-round draft pick Dominic McGuire and plans on retaining restricted free agent forward Andray Blatche.

According to a league source, the Heat is preparing to make a trade offer to the Wizards for guard Juan Carlos Navarro, who recently negotiated his way out of a contract with FC Barcelona, one of the top teams in Europe. The Wizards have held Navarro's NBA rights since selecting him in the second round of the 2002 draft.

· WADE UNSURE FOR CAMP: Heat guard Dwyane Wade said his knee and shoulder rehabilitation are going well, although he may not be ready by the start of training camp.

Wade had surgery on his left knee and left shoulder in mid-May, and he said the shoulder requires six months to rehabilitate and heal. Training camp starts in early October, and the season begins later that month.

"I'm a fast healer, but my doctor really wants to make sure . . . we don't have to go through this process again," Wade said. "

· CIAO, BELINELLI: The Warriors signed first-round pick Marco Belinelli. Belinelli was the 18th overall pick in last month's draft after five seasons in his native Italy.
