FAIRFAX COUNTY
Medical Emergency Suspected in Fatal Crash
A Fairfax County man who might have had a medical emergency while driving died Monday night when he lost control of his pickup truck and slammed into a parked car in the Lorton area, Fairfax police said yesterday.
Earl Coleman, 55, of the 8300 block of Dixon Street in the Lorton area, was driving his 1978 Ford F-150 north on Windemere Hill Drive, just off Lorton Road, police said. As he neared Old Vicarage Street, his truck left the road, ran over some shrubs and grazed a fire hydrant, then returned to the road and struck a parked car, pushing it into a house.
Coleman was taken to Potomac Hospital, where he later died, police said. Investigators think that Coleman might have suffered a medical emergency but could not elaborate because of privacy restrictions.
