School Board Chooses Its New Leaders

The Arlington County School Board elected David M. Foster last week as chairman for the start of the 2007-08 school year. Foster will serve until Dec. 31, when he will leave the board after his term expires.

Foster, who has been on the five-member board seven years, was chairman during the 2005-06 school year and had announced that he would not seek another term. Voters will elect his replacement in November. Ed Fendley, a board member since 2006, was elected vice chairman.
