What the Study Recommends: A Park-by-Park Accounting
Staff members of the Montgomery County Department of Parks have studied the usage and physical condition of 31 recreation buildings around the county and made the following recommendations.
· Proposal: Continue operating and improve six recreation buildings in the following parks.
Glenmont, 3201 Randolph Rd., Wheaton
Indian Springs, 9717 Lawndale Dr., Silver Spring
Kemp Mill Estates, 120 Claybrook Dr., Wheaton
Meadowbrook, 7901 Meadowbrook Lane, Chevy Chase
Norbeck-Muncaster, 4101 Muncaster Mill Rd., Norbeck
Tilden Woods, 6800 Tilden Lane, Potomac
· Proposal: Evaluate and market 18 buildings in these parks for three-years to see if whether usage increases.
Capitol View-Homewood Local Park, 2929 Edgewood Rd., Kensington
Colesville Local Park, 610 Hobbs Dr., Colesville
Ken-Gar Palisades Local Park, 4140 Wexford Dr., Kensington
Lynnbrook Local Park, 8008 Newdale Rd., Bethesda
Maplewood Alta Vista Local Park, 5209 Alta Vista Rd., Bethesda
Nolte Local Park, 200 Denver Rd., Silver Spring
North Chevy Chase Local Park, 4105 Jones Bridge Rd., Chevy Chase
Owens Local Park, 19900 Beallsville Rd., Beallsville
Pilgrim Hill Local Park, 1615 East Randolph Rd., Colesville
Pinecrest Local Park, 301 St. Lawrence Dr., Silver Spring

· Proposal: Transfer five buildings in these parks to another agency or demolish. Many of the buildings need extensive repairs.
