I am appalled by the lack of sensitivity, decency and simple good taste that Tom Toles displayed in his Aug. 8 cartoon. To trivialize the horror suffered by the passengers on United Flight 93 on Sept. 11, 2001 -- in particular the heroic call to action of Todd Beamer -- was beyond the pale. As we approach the sixth anniversary of that terrible day, you might want to suggest to Toles that it is no laughing matter to make a joke out of a flight that ended up in a smoking crater in Pennsylvania with a loss of 40 innocent souls.
