Jail Gets Top Health Rating
Kudos to the jail.
The National Commission on Correctional Health Care last week announced it is presenting the Montgomery County Correctional Facility and Detention Center its Facility of the Year Award.
The organization recognizes one out of about 500 prisons, jails and juvenile detention centers for the distinction each year. "The accreditation surveyors and committee were impressed with how your staff and programs address patient health needs," NCCHC President Edward A. Harrison wrote in a letter to Arthur Wallenstein, the county's director of corrections.
The award will be presented Oct. 15 at a ceremony in Nashville.
