Iva Wells Guay, 98, a former nursing supervisor at Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park, died Sept. 2 at Howard County General Hospital. She had aspiration pneumonia.

Mrs. Guay was born in Oshawa, Ontario, and graduated with a nursing degree from Columbia Union College, a Seventh-day Adventist school in Takoma Park. She worked at Washington Adventist for 27 years.

She was a member of Sligo Seventh-day Adventist Church in Takoma Park, where she had been a deaconess and assistant leader of the children's Sabbath school. She also volunteered with Meals on Wheels.

She was a longtime Takoma Park resident before entering nursing homes, most recently Elternhaus in Dayton.

Her husband, Stuart Guay, whom she married in 1930, died in 1963.

Survivors include a daughter, Cheryl Guay of Dayton.
