Missed Opportunity
The Redskins wasted a chance to make the first lengthy gain of the game when normally reliable tight end Chris Cooley dropped a pass from quarterback Jason Campbell. Cooley had beaten double coverage down the right sideline, and Campbell lofted a perfect spiral over the defenders, but the ball bounced off Cooley's hands.
By the Numbers
4
Consecutive games in which the Eagles have failed to score during the first quarter. Philadelphia was shut out in the opening quarter of its two playoff games last season and in the first two games this year.
NEXT UP {vbar} N.Y. Giants
Sunday, 4:15 p.m., at FedEx Field
The Giants are 0-2 for the first time since 1996 and weathering a spate of injuries. Among the most significant: QB Eli Manning (shoulder) and RB Brandon Jacobs (knee). Coach Tom Coughlin's job security may become an issue again if the losing streak continues.
