(HealthDay News) -- Red wine has been shown to help improve cardiovascular health, most likely because it is rich in antioxidants called flavonoids.
You should limit yourself to a 4-ounce glass of wine daily, Yale-New Haven Hospital advises. But check with your doctor, especially if you presently don't drink alcohol.

Drinking for health should be done only in moderation -- binge drinking or drinking large amounts of alcohol is dangerous.If you have health problems such as liver disease, very high blood pressure or depression, you should not drink alcohol.Wines thought to contain the highest concentrations of flavonoids are Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Syrah and Pinot Noir.
