LAND

^ Celebrate Thanksgiving Southwestern-style at the Gateway Canyons Resort in western Colorado. The $119- per-person double package includes three nights' lodging at the Dolores River Inn and a Thanksgiving dinner at the Paradox Grille. Deal applies to any three nights Nov. 20-24. Dinner includes Southwest marinated turkey and spinach-chorizo-cashew stuffing. The resort is about an hour's drive southwest of Grand Junction, Colo., in the Red Rock Canyon region. ^ The Elegant Hotel Group has discounted rates at two of its Barbados properties. Rates at the all-inclusive Turtle Beach Resort start at $260 per night for two Dec. 1-14 (nightly rate is usually $434) and $544 a night Dec. 15-Jan. 7 (usually $906). Four-night minimum stay required; book by Nov. 6. Nightly rates at the Colony Club Hotel start at $263 for two for travel through Nov. 30 and $300 for stays Dec. 1-14 (rates usually from $400). ^ Intrepid Travel, an adventure travel company, is discounting by 15 percent its new 2008 trips that depart before June 30 -- but you must book by tomorrow. More than 100 itineraries to such destinations as Kenya, Ecuador and Greece have been discounted. For example, an 18-night Indochina Adventure tour from Hanoi to Bangkok now starts at $846 per person double, plus $200 taxes and about $135 converted into Thai bahts (paid to group leader for in-country tips and incidentals). SEA

^ Peter Deilmann Cruises is offering a $99 airfare and shore excursion package on 25 cruises aboard the MS Deutschland. Deal applies to 2008 itineraries in many international locations, including Africa, Southeast Asia and Europe. Cruise prices vary. For example, a nine-night sailing from Istanbul, departing April 5, starts at $4,751 per person double, plus $99 for round-trip airfare from Washington and all shore excursions. ^ Holland America is offering discounted fares on two seven-night Caribbean cruises from Fort Lauderdale, Fla. An outside cabin starts at $649 per person double (plus about $69 taxes) on the Nov. 17 sailing of the Zuiderdam or the Nov. 18 sailing of the Westerdam. ^ Windstar Cruises has reduced fares by at least $500 per person on several Caribbean cruises in November and December. Price starts at $1,499 per person double for the six seven-night cruises. Four of the sailings are on the 312-passenger Wind Surf, departing Nov. 25 and Dec. 2, 9 and 16 from Barbados; the other two are aboard the 148-passenger Wind Spirit, departing Dec. 8 and 15 from St. Thomas in the U.S. Virgin Islands. AIR

^ El Al has sale fares to Tel Aviv for fall and winter travel. Round-trip fare from Washington Dulles, connecting in Newark or JFK, is $954 (plus $84 taxes). Travel through March 31. ^ Fly from Washington to Tokyo on American Airlines for $967 round trip, including $96 taxes. Depart by Dec. 6 and return by March 5. Lowest fares are available for Monday-Thursday flights; seven-day advance purchase required. Four-day minimum stay and 90-day maximum stay permitted. Other airlines are matching. PACKAGES

^ Central Holidays is offering a winter special on its Rome and Florence itinerary. Price starts at $1,467 per person double (including $362 fuel surcharge and taxes) and includes round-trip air from Washington Dulles to Rome, returning from Florence; four nights at the four-star Visconti Palace Hotel in Rome; four nights at the four-star Corona d'Italia Hotel in Florence; first-class rail ticket from Rome to Florence; breakfasts; airport transfers; and two tours. Travel Nov. 1-March 31 (holiday dates are more expensive). Priced separately, package would cost $1,593 per person for airfare, hotel and train ticket.
