After an eight-play drive stalled at the Cardinals 38-yard line, the Redskins' defense managed to break up the scoring drought. Kurt Warner was intercepted over the middle by linebacker London Fletcher, whose 27-yard return put the Redskins up 14-0. Arizona moved the ball on its next drive but was stopped on fourth and two at the Washington 48. But Campbell's screen pass on first down was picked off by linebacker Calvin Pace and returned to the 23-yard line. On fourth and goal, Warner found Anquan Boldin in the back of the end zone to pull the Cardinals within 8. The ensuing extra point was blocked, and Carlos Rogers and Cardinals place kicker Neil Rackers tangled as the half ended.
