A disgruntled patron of a Wisconsin Avenue NW nightclub threw flammable liquid on an employee last night and set him afire, police said.
The fire was quickly extinguished, and the 26-year-old employee of the Good Guys Bar at 2611 Wisconsin Ave. was taken to a hospital, according to police and fire department spokesmen. His injuries were described as serious.
The patron had apparently been ejected after attempting to photograph dancers at the adult-entertainment club, police spokesman Quintin Peterson said.
Officials said the assailant's hands may have been burned during the incident, and police said they were looking for him last night.
He was described by police as a balding, possibly Hispanic or Middle Eastern man who was 30 to 40 years old and standing about 5 feet 8 inches tall. They said he was wearing black pants and a red jacket.
