Last meeting: Schools have never played.
Playoff history: Both schools are making their postseason debuts. Digital Harbor posted its first winning record this season. Surrattsville opened in 1955 and began fielding a football team in 1960.
What to watch: It will be interesting to see if Digital Harbor can keep pace with Surrattsville's high-scoring offense. The Hornets feature one of the area's top offenses, averaging 39.6 points per game.
Quarterback Andre Johnson is the catalyst, running the option and helping set up running back Davin Meggett. Johnson has passed for 1,044 yards and 16 touchdowns with four interceptions and also has rushed for 1,079 yards and 12 touchdowns. Meggett, who has committed to Maryland, has rushed for 1,602 yards and 23 touchdowns.
Digital Harbor, meantime, averages just 20.4 points per game, running out of multiple offensive sets behind a big offensive line. Defensively, the Rams often use five linemen and three linebackers to create a lot of pressure.
Forestville at Dunbar-Baltimore
Saturday, 1 at Poly
Records: Forestville 6-3, Dunbar-Baltimore 10-0.
Last meeting: Dunbar-Baltimore, 38-22, on Nov. 25 in Maryland 1A South Region final.
Playoff history: The two are traditional powers among the state's smaller schools. Forestville played in three state finals from 1998 to 2000, winning the Maryland 1A title in 1999. Since the state began conducting regional football tournaments in 2003, Dunbar has won every Maryland 1A South Region title, capturing state titles in 2004 and 2006.
What to watch: Dunbar's 19-game winning streak is the second longest in the state. The Poets' closest victories this season were by 44-34 over Poly and 12-0 over Mervo. No other game has been closer than three touchdowns as sensational running back Tavon Austin has piled up the yards and touchdowns.
"They might be the most impressive team I've seen in the state this year, in person or on tape," one coach who has scouted Dunbar said.
