After a successful 12-year run in the West End, Asia Nora is poised to close next month, reports co-owner Steven Damato. The building that houses the restaurant was sold today for an undisclosed sum, to an investment group that includes Barry S. Sternlicht, the creator of the W Hotel brand.

There are no plans to reopen the pan-Asian restaurant in another location. "It will be nice to be able to put our time and focus on Restaurant Nora," says Damato, who runs both establishments with his partner, chef Nora Pouillon. Asia Nora's last dinner service will be on Dec. 21.

According to Damato, the building, at 2213 M St. NW, will be razed to make way for a green-minded luxury hotel called One. "An organic restaurant is being replaced by an organic hotel," says the restaurateur. "It's progress."
