The Redskins went to a no-huddle to start the second half, and it helped the offense develop a rhythm. Washington began with the ball at its 27 to start the quarter and capped its first drive with a 39-yard touchdown pass from Campbell to tight end Chris Cooley, who was open down the left sideline. The Redskins extended that drive by giving the ball to Portis on a fourth down and one from the Tampa Bay 42, and the running back burrowed through the line for a two-yard gain. The Buccaneers were unable to mount any threat offensively with backup quarterback Bruce Gradkowski. Tampa Bay failed to pick up a first down on two possessions in the quarter.
