Boy, 14, Charged With Murder
A 14-year-old Kentland resident has been charged with first-degree murder in the shooting of a D.C. man in July, Prince George's County police said yesterday.
Police said Ivan L. Chester shot Arnell B. Carrington, 27, about 2 a.m. July 25 in the 7300 block of Landover Road in the Landover area. Chester, of the 6800 block of Flagstaff Street, opened fire on Carrington during a botched robbery attempt and then fled, police said. Carrington, of the 600 block of Rittenhouse Street, was pronounced dead at the scene.
Chester, who was charged as an adult, was arrested Friday. He was being held without bond yesterday at the Prince George's jail.
