Here are the candidates who had filed by 9 p.m. yesterday to run in Maryland's Feb. 12 congressional primaries.

District 1 (includes part of Anne Arundel County)

Democratic primary: Steve Harper, Frank M. Kratovil Jr., Christopher Robert Robinson, Joseph Werner.

Republican primary: Joe Arminio, Robert Joseph Banks, Wayne T. Gilchrest (i); Andrew P. Harris, E.J. Pipkin, John Walter Leo.

District 2 (includes part of Anne Arundel)

Democratic primary: C.A. Dutch Ruppersberger (i).

Republican primary: Richard Pryce Matthews.

District 3 (includes parts of Anne Arundel and Howard counties)

Democratic primary: John M. Rea, John P. Sarbanes (i).

Republican primary: Thomas E. "Pinkston" Harris, Christopher Panasuk, Paul Spause, John Stafford.

District 4 (parts of Prince George's and Montgomery counties)

Democratic primary: Michael Babula, Donna F. Edwards, Jason Jennings, George E. McDermott, George E. Mitchell, Albert R. Wynn (i).

Republican primary: Robert Broadus, Peter James, Vincent Martorano, Michael Moshe Starkman.

District 5 (Calvert, Charles and St. Mary's counties and parts of Anne Arundel and Prince George's)

Democratic primary: James P. Cusick Sr., Steny H. Hoyer (i).

Republican primary: Collins Bailey, Jesse James Dann, Mike Hethmon.

District 6 (includes Frederick County and part of Montgomery)

Democratic primary: Robin L. Deibert, Jennifer P. Dougherty, Andrew Duck, Rick Lank, Larry John Smith.

Republican primary: Roscoe G. Bartlett (i), Tom Croft, John B. Kimbal, Joseph T. Krysztoforski, Frank K. Nethken.

District 7 (includes part of Howard)

Democratic primary: Elijah E. Cummings (i), Charles Ulysses Smith.

Republican primary: Ray Bly, Michael T. Hargadon.

District 8 (parts of Montgomery and Prince George's)

Democratic primary: Chris Van Hollen (i), Deborah A. Vollmer, Lih Young.

Republican primary: Steven J. Hudson, Meyer F. Marks, Brian Mezger, Jay Roberts, Bruce Stern.
