After a dreadful start, during which Shaquille O'Neal complained constantly about his lack of involvement in the offense and Dwyane Wade worked his way back into shape following offseason knee and shoulder surgeries, the Miami Heat (6-15) enters tonight's game against the Wizards on a two-game winning streak.

Miami closed a West Coast road trip with wins over the Los Angeles Clippers and Phoenix Suns and has scored at least 100 points in five straight games. O'Neal still is averaging a career-low 14.7 points per game, but Wade has scored 30 or more points in three straight games.

Miami is at the bottom of the Southeast Division standings, five games behind the Wizards (11-10), but Washington hasn't won at Miami since April 2003. The span has included eight straight regular season losses and two playoff defeats.

"We just want to go down and play, and we don't care about that stuff," Wizards Coach Eddie Jordan said. "I don't even look at that kind of thing. All that matters is what we do" tonight.

Season of Giving

Wizards owners Abe and Irene Pollin purchased uniforms and sweat suits for the boys' and girls' basketball teams at Anacostia, Spingarn and Ballou high schools in Washington. The teams were presented with the new uniforms during halftime of Tuesday's game against Minnesota.
