Claimants have until May 30, 2008, to make a claim. At that time, administrators will begin figuring out how the money will be distributed. Checks probably won't arrive much before the end of 2008, Langer said.

By the way, this doesn't mean credit card companies and the banks that issue the cards must stop charging the fees. But the suit has already encouraged most of them to disclose the fees on customer bills, and Langer said the attention could cause companies to compete to reduce or eliminate the fees.

MEA CULPA

Go Navy!

CoGo is so sad to be accused of having deliberately discriminated against the U.S. Naval Academy football team by not mentioning last week that it, too, is a regional team in an out-of-town bowl game. CoGo is football-deficient and mistakenly overlooked the Poinsettia Bowl, in which Navy plays Utah in San Diego on Thursday. Tickets, a bargain at $35 and $45, are available at 800-US4-NAVY or http://www.NavySports.com.

TRAVEL TICKER

CoGo is also sad to report that Icelandair will terminate service from BWI on Jan. 13. The airline often offered the cheapest flights to Europe via Reykjavik. Passengers already ticketed out of BWI after that date may choose a refund; or Icelandair will, at no additional cost, arrange a flight to meet Icelandair flights out of New York or Boston. . . . You don't have to stand in line to rent skis at your western U.S. destination; a new ski shop on wheels will deliver and pick up what you need , around the clock. Contact Door 2 Door in advance, and they'll come to any of 15 ski resort areas in the western United States with skis, boots and poles for $25 to $50 a day. They'll also rent or sell ski jackets and gloves. Details: 866-323-7547, http://www.d2dskis.com.

BARGAIN OF THE WEEK

ATA has sale fares to Hawaii. Round-trip fare from Baltimore to the Big Island of Hawaii or Maui starts at $545, including $47 taxes. Travel Jan. 14-March 7; book by Dec. 18. Some dates are sold out. Fare on other airlines starts at $724. Purchase at www.ata.com, or for $10 more call 800-435-9282.
