Completed passes the Giants and Redskins combined for in the first half. By comparison, the teams combined for 11 punts in the half.

Not So Fast

After the Giants ran the ball on fourth and one during their second drive of the night, the scoreboard operator confidently flashed "FIRST DOWN" on the big screen. Alas, the officials were less enthusiastic; they called for a measurement that showed the Giants had been stopped short.

Team Spirit

Randy Thomas's season ended when he was put on injured reserve last week, but the Redskins guard hasn't stopped tiring himself out on game days. Thomas joined Washington's offensive linemen for their pregame drills yesterday; after barking advice and offering a series of encouraging pats, Thomas beckoned a ballboy to fetch him a water bottle.
