Hungry
written by Alethea Eason for ages 9-12

Deborah Jones is a typical 11-year-old girl, except that she has six tentacles, each with a row of gleaming fangs. And that she has three stomachs. And that people from her Home World are planning an invasion of Earth, where Deborah and her parents are living in disguise.
Thanks to an "overskin" that gives Deborah a human appearance, no one at school knows that she's an alien, not even Willy, her best friend and the cutest boy in sixth grade.
The planned invasion is not the only problem in Deborah's life. Her people are carnivores (meat-eaters) that feed once a year. And guess who's on the menu? As a pledge of loyalty to the Home World, Deborah's parents have asked her to eat Willy!
Will she quiet her hunger pangs and gain approval from her alien kind, or will she save Willy and help thwart the invasion of Earth? What would you do?
