The Redskins extended their lead to 10-0 on Shaun Suisham's 46-yard field goal to conclude a possession that began in the first quarter. The field goal attempt came after quarterback Todd Collins was called for intentional grounding, which resulted in an 11-yard loss and the loss of a down. The Cowboys had an excellent opportunity to score a touchdown when they took over at the Redskins 18 after Collins was hit and lost the ball. But the Dallas offense continued its first-half futility and had to settle for a 37-yard field goal by Nick Folk, who had missed earlier in the quarter from 28 yards. The Redskins answered with a 21-yard field goal by Suisham in the final seconds.
