The Redskins extended their lead to 17 points after Portis scored on a one-yard touchdown run to cap a 12-play drive. The Redskins converted two third downs during the possession. The first was a 15-yard pass from Collins to Reche Caldwell on third and seven; the second was a 14-yard completion to Antwaan Randle El, which moved the Redskins to the Dallas 6. Portis carried three straight times from there. The Redskins' defense continued to dominate at the line of scrimmage, allowing a 16-yard completion from Tony Romo to Jason Witten but not much else. Romo was pulled after the first series of the second half.
