Flipping Out

Clinton Portis's 23-yard touchdown run in the first quarter was his longest scoring run of the season. The running back punctuated the score with a forward flip into the end zone. Alas, he runs better than he flips; Portis failed to rotate all the way forward and landed on his back.

Halftime Delayed

The first half ended on a bizarre sequence in which the Redskins squib-kicked and were ruled offside, giving the Cowboys one untimed down from the Washington 36. Problem was, most of the Redskins defenders had retreated into their tunnel. London Fletcher waved his teammates back, and defensive end Chris Wilson ended the half with a sack.

Quotable

"You've got to figure if we can't get this game, then we're not going anywhere."
