The Redskins scored on the first play of the period when Randle El caught a seven-yard pass in the end zone from Collins. Then Collins completed a 30-yard touchdown to Moss on the next series to put the Redskins ahead for the first time.
The Redskins got the ball back on the ensuing kickoff when Anthony Mix recovered the free ball at the Seattle 14. The ball got caught up in the wind during the kick, and Seattle returner Burleson was unable to track it down before it bounced on the field and Mix got to it first.
But the Redskins got no points despite excellent field position when Shaun Suisham missed a 30-yard field goal. Washington got the ball back when LaRon Landry intercepted his second pass of the quarter, but again the Redskins failed to score.
The Seahawks then took control for good with three unanswered touchdowns.
The first came on a 20-yard pass from Hasselbeck to Hackett, and the ensuing two-point conversion pass to Marcus Pollard made it 21-14; the second was a 78-yard interception return by cornerback Marcus Trufant; and the third was a 57-yard interception return by safety Jordan Babineaux.
