D.J. White scored 21 points and had a career-high 22 rebounds last night, becoming the first Indiana player with a 20-20 game in more than a decade, and the No. 10 Hoosiers won their ninth straight, 78-64 over host Michigan.

Eric Gordon had 23 points for Indiana (13-1, 2-0 Big Ten).

Freshman Manny Harris had 19 points for the Wolverines (4-11, 0-3), who have their worst 15-game record in more than two decades.

Michigan's DeShawn Sims made a shot from about 50 feet just before the halftime buzzer, and his three-pointer early in the second half pulled the Wolverines within five points.

But White and Gordon then took over and turned the game into a rout.

Indiana's stars combined to put the Hoosiers ahead 55-37 early in the second half, and they had little trouble keeping the cushion.

Sims had 16 points for the Wolverines, who haven't struggled this much since they opened 2-13 in 1981-82.

"I'm extremely impressed by Indiana," Michigan Coach John Beilein said. "We've played some good teams and they're as good if not better than any team we've played."

¿ KANSAS 90, LOYOLA (MD.) 60: In Lawrence, Kan., Sherron Collins scored 18 points and the No. 3 Jayhawks finished the first half on a 15-2 run after an outburst by Coach Bill Self.

Self accepted the early struggles but clearly was fed up when Loyola's Gerald Brown made a three-pointer that cut Kansas's lead to 26-22 with just more than five minutes left in the half. He immediately called a timeout to chew out his players and the Jayhawks responded, picking up the defensive pressure and getting easy shots on offense to start a 29-5 run that put them up 55-26 early in the second half.

"I don't really remember exactly what I said to them," Self said. "It's not the score, it's playing the game and we just didn't play the game for that stretch."
