The Rosebuds-- We saw the Rosebuds in May and all liked the show. That doesn't happen often, so we're going back for seconds. Thursday, doors at 8 p.m. Rock and Roll Hotel, 1353 H St. NE. $12. 202-388-7625.

These United States with Roofwalkers-- These are two of the better D.C. bands out today. The concert is at an un usual location, which could make for a memorable show. Saturday at 8 p.m. The Lab, 1819 N. Quaker Lane, Alexandria. $5. 703-998-6260.

Super Furry Animals-- Some Rock Club members are big fans of the band while others are not. This is a chance to settle the dispute -- or just prolong it. Jan. 27, doors at 7:30 p.m. 9:30 club, 815 V St. NW. $17. 202-393-0930 or 800-955-5566.

Vampire Weekend-- This band is the current darling of the blogosphere. Let's see if its live show can match the hype. Feb. 6, doors at 8 p.m. Rock and Roll Hotel, 1353 H St. NE. $10-$12. 202-388-7625.

Black Lips-- Fantastic raw garage rock. These guys always deliver in concert. March 15 at 9 p.m. Black Cat, 1811 14th St. NW. $13. 202-667-7960.
