BOSTON (Reuters) - The NBA-leading Boston Celtics suffered a second consecutive loss to the Washington Wizards, who scored the game's final six points in a 88-83 victory on Monday. Caron Butler had 21 points and Antawn Jamison added 20 and had 10 rebounds for the Wizards, who went on a 25-6 run to rally for the win.

Malkin hat-trick powers Penguins past Rangers

NEW YORK (Reuters) - Evgeni Malkin tallied a hat-trick to steer the Pittsburgh Penguins to a 4-1 win over the New York Rangers on Monday, their sixth consecutive home victory. Ty Conklin made a career-best 43 saves, while Sidney Crosby assisted on Malkin's first two goals to tie the NHL points lead with Tampa Bay's Vincent Lecavalier on 63.

Favorites keep cool in Australian sun

MELBOURNE (Reuters) - The world's leading tennis players were forced to keep cool heads as Australia's skin-reddening sun burnt down on Melbourne Park on Tuesday at day two of the Australian Open.
