Wizards: G Gilbert Arenas (left knee) and C Etan Thomas (heart surgery) remain out.

Celtics: G Rajon Rondo (sore lower back) returned to the starting lineup after missing Boston's 85-78 loss on Saturday night. . . . In his previous four games before last night, Celtics guard Ray Allen shot 13 for 44 (29.5 percent) from the field.

Opponents the Wizards have held to fewer than 80 points, all in the past 13 games. They are undefeated in those contests.

"It's kind of funny how people talk about how teams are better without certain players. . . . When I was playing we were in the fourth or fifth spot [in the East]. You've got to play 82 games before you realize if they are better without me or with me."
