While some people swoon over the lobster roll, the one I ordered was overflowing with watery, over-salted claw meat. It looked divine, but left me drowning the saltiness with water. There are several sandwiches on the menu, including BLTs and Bloch's renditions of tuna and egg salads. The turkey breast is cooked at the restaurant, then cut with a commercial slicer. While the taste cries out homemade, the texture screams deli processed. It's a simple fix; cut the meat by hand.

Creamy spinach and macaroni and cheese are also on the menu, but because they are made in small batches, both were sold out the two times I visited.

Service is engaging and prompt, after you choose a seat. But first you have to place your order at the counter and pick up your drink. There is a small but well-chosen wine and beer list.

Bloch, who caters and delivers, plans to add Sunday brunch in coming weeks and may add more selections to the dinner menu -- such as veal chops and steaks.

I hope the clamor for his fine crab cakes will prevent him from expanding the menu. This is a perfect crab place, and I'd hate to see it sullied with a lot of distractions.
