Cruising 2008

I VERY MUCH enjoyed Scott Vogel's piece on cruising to Brazil ["The Girl From Ipanema: A Cruise to the Muse," Jan. 20]. It was one of the most fascinating long articles I have read in The Post in a very long time. Why doesn't the newspaper spend less time on the flash-in-the-pan candidates and more on stories that challenge your readers to think and enjoy life?

I WOKE UP this morning, turned on my computer and came across your article. It was so well done and touching that I had to let you know.

That song has always been a favorite from long ago and another lifetime. One that made me smile softly as I read. Thanks for doing it so well. She does still look lovely, doesn't she?
